Design Camp 2014

Registration for Design Camp will open online this Wednesday (tomorrow!), February 19th 2014 at 6:00 p.m. on our website: design.ncsu.edu/designcamp. We will be posting a registration button linked to our application site in advance, but the application will not go live until 6:00 p.m. For the best chance at a spot, we urge you to submit your application as early as possible! For those interested in financial assistance, we have limited assistance available, and a link to download our financial assistance form will be posted on our site alongside registration. We’ve got a great staff lined up, a terrific theme, and wonderful projects in development for our 6 weeks of camp. We can’t wait to see you for one of the following sessions:

DESIGN EXPLORATIONS CAMP (RISING 6TH, 7TH & 8TH GRADE DAY CAMP)

Open Studio

We’re getting ready for our first Open Studio here at the Design Lab, coming up on February 20. Registration and the wait list for this session is now FULL. We are thrilled to have so many students interested! If you were not able to register this month, don’t worry. There are still some spots available for Open Studio on March 20, 4:00-6:00 p.m. Open Studios will be offered on the third Thursday of every month, through April, and will resume in September for the 2014-15 school year.

Participating students are invited to bring in their own works in progress and receive feedback from their peers, NC State College of Design students, faculty and guest artists. Each participating student should plan to bring one project to work on during the session as well as a few completed works to receive feedback on. Students must bring their own supplies.This is a great opportunity for students serious about preparing portfolios for art and design college admissions. It’s also a chance to get to know some other creative teens in the triangle area, and get a chance to work in a college environment (while design studios are in session!)

Open Studio will take place at The Design Lab (212-A Brooks Hall) here at the College of Design at NC State. This is a FREE program. Space is limited. Registration is required for participation and on-campus parking. Register for the next Open Studio by emailing your name, school and grade level to designlab_k12@ncsu.edu and a message saying you’d like to register for Open Studio. We will reply to confirm your reservation. Hope to see you there!
