From an Exploris Student: Let’s Start a Band….

Dear Exploris Families,

If you do not know me, my name is Mia and I am a 7th grader. I thought it would be fun to make a band of Exploris students with an initial goal of playing at Expressions Day. If things go well who knows what the future could bring for other opportunities to play.

I have a musician/teacher/adult band leader that has agreed to be our band consultant and he suggested the following songs: Counting Stars (One Republic), Pompeii (Bastille) and Best Day of My Life (American Authors).

My letter is to serve as a request for musicians/singers. If you are an Exploris Student that can sing or play guitar, bass guitar or drums, please email me at home or school.

Whatever instrument we do not have covered I will be happy to play. You do not need to be Eddie Van Halen or Katy Perry to be part of this band; you just need to want to learn and have fun!

Chords will be provided to you for the songs. The current song line up calls for a male lead singer but females should inquire as well. Rehearsals will be at my home in North Raleigh and would be the following dates 4/12, 4/26, 5/17, 5/31, and 6/7. My brother and I have a full electric drum kit with double bass pedal, keyboard, two electric guitars (if you only have an acoustic), bass guitar, amps, microphones, etc. Just bring your guitar or bass guitar for ease of travel to rehearsals.

Please email by April 8 to ensure we know if the band (to be named later) is feasible.

Musically Yours,

Mia
