Cre.ate camps
I have attached a document that outlines the camps we have available through the week of September 15. I have also listed additional camps that we can offer, either adding a camp or switching a camp for one we already have listed (we would need a guarantee of 6 or more to do that) If parents choose a full day option, there is a supervised lunch time between 12 and 1.
Our rates- If parents choose one or two camps, the rates would be 120/half day and 240 for full day. If they choose three or more weeks, we could drop the rate to 100/half day and 200 for full day. Carving and Woodworking camps have an additional materials fee- 20 for Woodworking and 30 for Carving (includes a carving set for students to take with them.)
We are connected to NBS Gym and often partner with them so that students could take half a day with them and half a day with us. There have also been times when They teach archery and fencing camps- same schedule as ours (9-12 and 1-4 with an hour of supervised lunch in between). I have been in touch with the coach, Wes Caudill (who has been my daughter’s coach for 5 years) and he is interested in offering camps for Exploris students. He is not sure if he is available all five weeks but should know something today. I will email you with his details as soon as I know something.
I am also aware that folks might need to drop students off earlier- we can offer early care starting at 8:30 if we need to.
Thanks so much for this opportunity. Let me know if you have additional questions, and I hope that we can be of some help to Exploris families in the coming weeks!
take care,
Ellin
Lifetime Fitness
I wanted to reach out to the Exploris Elementary families to offer a possible camp I am working on with Lifetime Fitness in Cary. I am working with the youth coordinator to get camps for the time between August 18 until the Elementary School opens. The camps involve rock climbing, swimming, and sports activities and the facility has a cafe’ for food lunch services if you need it. The typical camp is $170/week, but I have been assured that we will be able to get an Exploris discount below that number. The facility is just off US1 South and Tryon Road in the Koka Booth area. I need to identify the number of families who might be interested. Please email me if you want to be added to my list of families wanting more details. Also note that many families like mine will have to drop off at EMS then return to southern Wake County so carpooling from EMS to Cary would be possible.
Please call or email me if you have questions.
Sincerely,
Susan Bostian

Raleigh Parks and Rec
After a lot of coordination from different program areas, we were able to put together a program for August 18-September 19th for a total of 24 kids. The program will run weekly at Halifax Community Center from 7:30am-6:00pm and will cost $150.00 per week and includes all field trips and supplies. Camp is for grades K-5th grade for upcoming year. Financial Assistance is available for anyone that needs help. I have attached a form that is required for any Financial Assistance Requests.
The registration process will begin on Monday, August 11th. Parents can register in person at Halifax Center or on RecLink starting at 10:00am. Parents can call 919-996-6378 for more information.
Please call me if you have any questions. I have a meeting in the morning about the camp and we should have a schedule of activities by next Thursday.
Thanks Toni

The Finley Y (off of Six Forks Road) and the Cary Y (near Prestonwood) as well as the Kerr Y in Wake Forrest all run year round school tracking out programs and all seem to have openings the weeks of Aug. 18 – mid September. Some people buy the whole year but we do “sell” tracking out by the week – we call it Sessions. The programs are open to anyone who needs care. We serve many year round school kids, some private school kids who are on amended schedules, as well as charter school and homeschool children in these programs.
I called Finley and Cary and both said they had openings. I did not talk to Kerr but I believe they do as well.
Their numbers are:
Finley: 848-8622
Cary: 469-9622
Kerr: 562-9622
