Transportation: Exploris Partnership with the Capital Area Transit Bus

Dear Exploris Families,

We are excited to announce that in partnership with the Capital Area Transit bus system, Exploris will be creating an initiative to make it easier for students to get to our downtown school.  We realize that carpooling and driving students to school in the morning can be time-consuming and complicated especially when the I-40/440 Fortify project moves into Phase II.  The city is partnering with us to help transport our students.  Initially we are envisioning three drop off sites based on a map indicating student zip codes.

These drop-off sites include the following:

  1. Crabtree Valley Mall
  2. Shoppes of Garner on 401 – (former Kmart parking lot)
  3. Triangle Town Center

Students 12 and under ride for free, and we are doing everything in our power to find funds for bus passes for our older students.  All though the city will not be providing separate buses from their regular routes; however, bus drivers will be aware and watching out for our students. We are also looking into parent volunteers willing to ride with our students until a system is established.

Representatives from the Capital Area Transit system, as well as a bus and driver, will be presenting at the school’s first open house.
