Monday Minute: Teachers in Need, Coffee with Counselors, Exploris Food Pantry, Parents Night Out, Screenagers (New Date), Spring Family Day, Relay for Life

Teacher Support in a Time of Need

There are a few teachers at Exploris currently dealing with health and special family circumstances. We are hoping the Exploris community can help us show them support with grocery gift cards, meal delivery gift cards and notes of encouragement during this difficult time. Please label anything sent to school with “Teacher Support” and deliver to leadership, they will distribute directly to the teachers in need.

Coffee with Counselors

Want to learn more about what’s happening with your Student Services Team?  Have questions you want to ask?  Come have a coffee with our team this coming Thursday (3/30)! 

Exploris Food Pantry

Please consider giving to the Exploris Food Pantry! There is always a need in our community.

You can have your donations shipped to the school, dropped off in carpool and we will have a table set up at Spring Family Day to accept donations.

SAVE THE DATE: Exploris Parents Night Out

Save the Date for Exploris Parents Night Out May 18, 2023 at 5:00pm. All food and beverage sales will benefit the Exploris Annual Fund.

Screenagers (4/25)

Please join us as we watch the Screenagers Movie and follow up with a panel discussion.  We’ll be joined by substance abuse educators from the Poe Center, developmental psychology researchers from UNC, Educational Leadership, and mental health clinicians.  Please visit the QR code to purchase your tickets today!  

Spring Family Day (4/16)

It’s time to get excited about our 2nd annual Exploris Spring Family Day & Craft Fair! It will be a day of fun for the whole family. See below for more information on volunteering, being a vendor and activities to look forward to on April 16!

Spring Family Day Volunteers:


We need lots of volunteers to make this a successful event. We can not make this happen without you. Please consider donating an hour of your time (we take grandparents and high schoolers too) to help with the event. 

There are 15 volunteer spots per hour, please sign up for 1 or more shifts. This will be a great opportunity to meet other members of the Exploris community.

Relay for Life

Lisa Averitte from the elementary school office is running in Relay for Life and has created an Exploris Team to run with her. Please see her message below:

I’ve joined Relay For Life , and want you to join me! Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraiser, bringing communities together to honor and remember loved ones and take action for lifesaving change in the fight against cancer.

The more people who participate in Relay For Life, the more money we can raise to support breakthrough research, 24/7 support for cancer patients, access to lifesaving screenings, and much more. Please join my team!
