CAM Raleigh Docent Program Info and Application

The Middle School Student Docent Program is a school program for grades six through eight designed to equip students with the necessary skills to discover and connect with contemporary art and design. CAM Raleigh’s middle school docents will attend a series of after-school sessions with a museum educator. Weekly training sessions will use an inquiry based approach to teach students the skills to decode and analyze works of art featured in the museum’s exhibitions. When training is complete, these young docents use the same approach to engage museum visitors in a conversation about the work on view. Besides extensive training and art immersion, student docents will receive a CAM Raleigh t-shirt and docent handbook (sketchbook). (Taken from CAM Raleigh text.)
