October 27, 28, 30 and 31 the four 4th and 5th grade classes are going to begin design work on their landscape plans for our school. Children will have chosen one of 9 areas for design: Outdoor Classroom, Soccer Field, Obstacle Course, Chicken Habitat, Vegetable Herb and Compost Area, Butterfly Garden, Bird Garden, Scent Garden, Sound Garden. They will be using research materials to ensure that their designs fit the needs described. They will be designing at 1 cm = 1′ scale.
If you are a parent who has a strong interest in one of these areas, and would be willing to help a group of children work through the process, I would love to have your help! Please sign up for a day and topic. You will work with your group for the 50 minute class period.
