If you haven’t already voted, please remember to head to the polls on Tuesday.  Your VOTE is your VOICE!  You can look up your sample ballot and precinct info here:  https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/

Exploris will have a regular school day on election day. Wake County is planning a delayed opening because many of their schools serve as a polling location. This does not affect Exploris so school will not be delayed.

2. Service Project Donations Needed

Hello! My name is Lucinda and I am in the 7th-grade service learning group called  Conservationists” . We are in need of WOOD to create owl boxes for Eastern Screech Owls. We need unpainted wood (NOT Presswood or plywood) that is 3/4 -1 inch thick and at least 10 inches wide (3/4 to 1″ X 10″) and as long as possible. Pine would be fine or cedar scraps are good too. If you have wood that you can drop off please contact Helene at helliston@exploris.org We would need this WOOD as soon as possible since we are trying to make OWL BOXES after our Thanksgiving Break.
Thank you so much!

Exploris is collecting food for the seniors, as they do not get food over Thanksgiving break.  The whole school is helping to bring a little joy and food to each of the 318 residents of Glenwood Towers.  There is an even greater need now, following the recent fire that displaced some residents.  Please do what you can to help the folks in Glenwood Towers:

We also have a new, ongoing Fundraiser that is super exciting!  All Papa Murphy’s Take ‘n’ Bake Pizza locations in Wake County are offering us 25% back on online orders.  All you have to do is add the Promo Code “Creative” when checking out at http://order.PapaMurphys.com.  There are no specific dates or times – anytime your family has a pizza night, Papa Murphy’s will give back to the PTO! Woo hoo!
Thank you again for everyone who attended our first Dine-In Fundraiser at City Barbeque.  Just by eating dinner, we raised an additional $75 for the PTO!

free-carpool-pick-up-29. Middle School Carpool Update  from Ellie:

Over the weekend (Nov 3) a Citrix Cycle Station was installed in the single carpool rider lane on Hillsborough Street in front of the middle school campus. As a result, we need to make alternate plans for our afternoon carpool. We will be working on a long-term solution with the city of Raleigh that ensures safety while avoiding congestion on the city streets.

In the meantime, it will be necessary to have ALL students load AFTERNOON carpool through the Ugly Monkey parking lot as we do in the morning. It is imperative that drivers make ONLY right hand turns into and out of the parking lot. Cars need to pull as far forward as possible and students need to be on the lookout for their ride so we are able to safely load multiple cars at a time.

This is also a great time to consider biking, walking, busing, or car pooling to ease the congestion in the car pool line and help the environment. We appreciate your patience as we observe traffic patterns and adjust to our burgeoning downtown landscape.
