8th grade Trimester 2 is well underway! Thank you to Dr. Michael Reiskind, pictured above, for kicking off our trimester with an insightful presentation about Yellow Fever.

Universal Declaration of Human Rights: The class of 2022 invites the Exploris community to virtually attend our UDHR ceremony on Friday, December 10 at 9:00 AM. This is a time-honored tradition that every 8th grader at Exploris has taken part in for the past 20 years on the anniversary of the United Nations signing the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is a wonderful, yearly reminder of the importance of human rights and your students have worked hard to memorize and prepare their part. Zoom Link.

Mark your calendars and plan to join us at the Elementary School on December 10 for an Outdoor Family Movie Night!  Fill out this survey to VOTE for the movie, or write in your suggestion.

Please vote by midnight on Tuesday, December 7 here: https://forms.gle/Vok8bBs9RUEbQbrbA

We’ll announce the movie selection on Wednesday!

Please plan to WEAR YOUR PAJAMAS on Friday night, too 🙂

Teacher Thanks Gift Donation

Holiday Shopping? We make it easy to give to your teachers! Exploris PTO coordinates schoolwide teacher gifts in December. We encourage all parents to contribute to this gift pool. Donations will be divided among all staff members. This collection ensures that all 60 teachers and staff members receive the recognition they deserve.

The gifts collection is going great so far. We are about halfway to our goal of $10,000.

TEACHER GIFTS WINTER 2021 Deadline for contributions is midnight, December 14.

Spiritwear Update:

Exploris Spiritwear is sold twice per year, in the fall and again in the spring. We had hoped to have all of the fall orders delivered by now, but unfortunately there have been delays from the company. We apologize for the delays.

Bay 6 has informed us that gray hoodies and youth gray long sleeve shirts are on back order/out of stock from their provider.  Our contact is still looking into options for these items. Other items that have been ordered were available and should be ready for me to pick up by 12/7. Once sorted, I will bring them to students at school.

We will continue to post updates to the Parent Facebook page and the PTO blog. I will also send another follow up email when you can expect items to be delivered to school.

These delays are being experienced across many industries and are part of these strange times.
We are sorry for the long wait and appreciate your patience.

Sincerely,
Martha Fisk, Spiritwear Committee Chair
