Dear Exploris Families,
We were able to begin our community vertical garden through the 7th grade curriculum and service learning program this year. We are dedicated to serving our Raleigh community by growing healthy food options. Students have learned about access to fresh food, soil composition, alternative planters, and serving the community.
Because our plants do not go on summer break, we are asking for your help! If you are available to water our plants one day a week over the summer, we would very much appreciate the support. Watering and caring for the plants will take about 15-30 minutes.
A section of our garden will be dedicated to “Plant-a-Row” for the hungry. We will deliver the crop once a week to Logan’s Garden Center. The remainder of the vegetables are available for the Exploris community to enjoy. This means that if you put in the effort, you can literally “reap what you sow.”
If you are interested in helping with this initiative, please sign up using this Sign-Up genius: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0E44AAAC2B0-water.
Those who are willing to volunteer will receive an email with directions for taking care of our plants.
Thank you,
Laura Laut
