6. Joy of Soccer for Refugees- please sponsor!

NCFC17_Logo_Breakdown_740x420_large - Tammie Guyer (1)For the last 3 years Shannon’s 8th grade service learning group has worked to END RACISM. This year there are ten students that choose to do this by supporting refugees that have been recently resettled in Raleigh.

One of the projects we have been asked to do is to find sponsors for 50 refugees to attend a North Carolina Football Club game. We are also hoping to find drivers to insure all of our guests have transportation to and from the game, and are safe while attending the game.

Please click here to sponsor a refugee!

On Thursday March 28, the Exploris 4th and 5th grades had an assembly program with members of the Triangle Recorder Society. The group brought a variety of recorders for students to see and hear. They were joined for one song by Karen Mollins, and were delighted to have Exploris students join them for a four part version of Ode to Joy.
