1. Spring Break- This Week!
From Deb:  Exploris will continue to honor the school calendar as much as possible.  That means next week will be our Spring Break, with no classes meeting from Monday, April 6th through Monday April 10th.  We know most of what families might have had planned for spring break has had to be cancelled, but we do encourage your students to use some of that time to read, to explore some virtual trips through online museums, YouTube concerts, etc, to create something with art, to get outside, and to work on ways to Do Good From Home

Monday, April 13th is listed on our calendar as a teacher workday and will remain– our staff will use that time to plan together and to get their next units set up in their online classrooms. No crew meetings, check ins, or classes will be held that day.

2. Silent Auction and Raffle- last call for donations!

Inked84254113_481074672583999_2461070252641878016_n_LIThe 2020 Exploris PTO Silent Auction & Raffle will be held April 21- May 2.

The PTO hopes you are all safe and well at home. We are a couple of weeks away from the start of our silent auction and we need your help!

In an effort to keep our school safe, the PTO has decided to take on paying for the background checks that will be required for all volunteers starting in the next school year. Our silent auction proceeds will be used to pay for these background checks along with many other events that we host throughout the year to support our staff, students and the community.

In an effort to support our auction, if you have anything that you would be willing to donate to the auction, we would greatly appreciate it. Your support is crucial to this event. Many of our staff have offered to donate their time as auction items again this year and these were very popular last year.

If you do not have something to donate, consider donating your time. Services are very popular and you could offer babysitting or a craft party or get creative with other ideas. Anything you could offer would be wonderful.

**Last Day for Donations:  Friday, April 10**

Please visit our Silent Auction & Raffle page more details

4. April Exploris Newsletter Online!

The April newsletterwas emailed to families last week. Read it for the latest information and updates about school closures, and a feature highlight from each grade level!

Intro from Ellie:  I hope this newsletter finds you and your family safe and healthy as we all adjust to the restrictions and remote working/learning environments.  Although this crisis has profoundly changed all of our lives, I remain inspired by our community’s spirit of determination and resilience.  This crisis has caused dramatic changes. Together, we have grown, transformed, and emerged stronger as a result.  Our teachers and students have risen to these challenges and have continued to reflect on ways to improve and refine our remote learning processes. I want to thank all of our families for your support and partnership. We will continue to navigate through these challenges and become stronger through the process.  With confidence, grace, and tenacity we will weather this storm and our children will further develop their independence, curiosity, grit, responsibility, and tenacity as we journey together.
