73071111_406185900000897_3886940665531072512_n.jpgTo kick off the Annual Fund, we will be hosting an annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, November 5. We hope everyone in the Exploris community will donate on this day…our goal is to raise $100,000 in 24 hours! You can send in a check to The Exploris School (memo: Annual Fund). We will also provide an easy link for online donations or to set up recurring monthly payments.

Join us this Thursday, October 24, at 6:30 pm at the elementary campus for a Parent University. We will discuss The Exploris School budget, charter school financing, and the status of our new building project.

Thank you for helping us pay our rent!

3. Middle School Electives- signups this week
It’s almost elective time at Exploris! Middle School students have over twenty electives from which to choose, ranging from academic topics, sports and fitness, arts and literature, and lots in between.  Please read carefully through the descriptions and the requirements and think about which programs would be the best fit.

Students will submit their top 5 choices in class next week.

4. Art By Me fall fundraiser
imagesThe PTO is promoting the ‘Art by Me’ fundraiser again this year. Our wonderful Art teachers, Jamie & Scarlet are helping the students to create pictures that can be applied to a large selection of products for family & friends to purchase. ( this will be in time for the holidays also! Ordering is in November and orders arrive beginning of December )
You will get to see the pictures your children draw before ordering and chose if you want to purchase anything.

The money raised will support the PTO who helps to support Exploris and our fantastic teachers and staff.  For more information, contact Kristin Corson at fundraising@explorispto.org, or visit our Art by Me webpage here.

5. WE STILL NEED CREW PARENTS!  What does a crew parent do?  Serve as a liaison between the PTO and teachers, spoil your teachers with snacks once a trimester and (PTO funded) treats on their birthday, coordinate volunteers as needed for crew-specific activities.

Please see the Crew Parents webpage for more information and a list of crews.

Interested, or have questions? Contact Gineen – Gineen.Bowman@gmail.com

On October 17 -18, the Exploris 6th grade went to Astrocamp (where these silly boys dissected a squid!) Thanks to all of the chaperones and teachers that made this fun overnight field experience possible.
